Re: 2020 Terrapin Open: Thanks and General Discussion
This was a cool tournament. I appreciated the balance of canonical drama like Doctor Faustus and more experimental stuff like the Machine common link tossup. History seemed just about the right difficulty for a nats minus tournament as well. EDIT: I agree with what's been said below about the lack o...

I believe (maybe I'm misremembering?) that Claes Oldenburg was mentioned in both the Minnesota bonus part and tossed up later? If true, this was really confusing to me, but I'm not 100% sure this is what actually happened. I think his Spoonbridge and Cherry sculpture in front of the Walker Art Cent...

I wanted to agree with Isaac and note the haphazard distribution of genres in the literature category. There seemed to be one, or often two, drama tossups per round (not necessarily a problem but it did come at the expense of long-form literature), and no poetry in some rounds and 3 poetry tossups i...

Under normal circumstances I’d want to play a final, but I had a bus at 9 and was meeting an old friend who I wanted to spend more time with. Moses had a train at 8 as well. I think the Rommel question messed up the caliber of the anti-aircraft gun he used against tanks, saying he used 80mm instead of 88mm AA guns. I know it's a small mistake, but it threw me off and I thought they were talking about something else.
