Re: Scattergories 3 (2019)

A couple updates:

1) Jaimie Carlson is now writing questions for this set!

2) I'd like to run a Discord mirror for those who can't play it at CO, ideally sometime in July. If you'd be interested in playing such a thing and have date preferences, post here or get in touch.

Re: DATE POLL: Illinois Side Event Weekend

Seems like there's a big group for a July mirror, but I'm assuming if I asked people to settle on one weekend those votes would be split. I'm currently leaning towards August 17th-18th to have a buffer after CO. This has the benefit of giving writers more time to polish their sets and not accidenta...

At my very first tournament, my team impressively zeroed a 40-30-20-10-1 bonus which asked you to identify Sylvia Plath's "Daddy" from quotes, where the 1-point quote was "Daddy, daddy, you bastard, I'm through."

Re: 2019 ACF Regionals Thanks and General Discussion

I agree with the theory behind your post, that we shouldn't ask about states in literature when it tests trivial knowledge that isn't important to the context of the works. But I don't think that's the case for the questions in this set. There were three "states in lit" tossups, one of which was a t...

Two small errata, both on giveaways. I believe calling "Ezekiel" a "minor prophet" to be wrong, and "Ouranos" is not the husband of Rhea. I've fixed these two errata, thanks for pointing them out! 7. Something I noticed about the literature in this set is that there seemed to be a very notable number of tossups on countries in the lit.
