Re: Petition Against ACF Formatted Bonus

Hey, maybe Fred can clear up whether this is actually against a board rule or not (I honestly don't know), but "I'm going to argue on behalf of an absent third party and dismiss all responses to my argument by claiming I don't believe what I just posted" is really annoying and not conduci...

Re: Petition Against ACF Formatted Bonus

I hope you all do not misread my comments. I feel very strongly that the best team SHOULD win. But, there are probably a lot of coaches out there that look at the IHSA format as it stands today as a more competitive format, allowing teams that are not as strong to maintain a competitive level of res...

Absolutely! But I am just saying that this might be an argument from some folks.

Re: Petition Against ACF Formatted Bonus

Balanced against these are the fact that, for players, a part-by-part format allows access to a much wider variety of bonuses, including ones that can treat subjects in greater depth. Surely that has to be worth a great deal to anyone interested in fostering young minds. More concretely, surely it ...

Re: Petition Against ACF Formatted Bonus

So why can't they play more matches at these meets? I think that the feeling is that, being in a spread-out conference like ours, they want to be home at a decent hour over a trip or 2 less during the course of the conference season. I would like to see our conference go to a twice-a-season format ...

Re: Petition Against ACF Formatted Bonus

Having just finished a conference tournament in a place where there are two VERY strong class A programs (Winnebago, Byron) and some folks who get out and do tournaments, there was some good discussion about the bonus format changes that people perceive as being in the works. I think that, at the ve...

Re: Illinois '08-'09

I would like to congratulate everyone associated with the Loyburn invite yesterday for hosting a wonderful tournament. The PACE format is a really exciting format, and I hope that more teams in Illinois get a chance to play with it in the near future. My team being the weakest there (by far, I'd say...

Re: Illinois '08-'09

Hey, all- I didn't mean to get everybody so fired up. Honest and truly I didn't. I appreciate both sides of this argument, and to everyone from BG, you guys are good! We aspire to be there. We aspire to the level of Auburn and Loyola and New Trier. We would love to have the dedication of the out of ...

Re: Illinois '08-'09

Hey, all! A few things to post on here, then I will hang up and listen to your comments ;) 1) First and foremost, as the coach of a team that is just starting to come out of our "conference-only" schedule again and make appearances at tournaments, I would like to restate that Brad, Kristin...
