Money is of course the biggest issue. I for one don't know how kids/teams have money to attend three nationals in a span of four weeks, when going to one pretty much breaks our bank. You should probably put Easter on here, the weekend of March 30th.
Most public schools in Delaware at least will be back in school on January 2nd, so after that should be a regular weekend for a lot of teams.

Irvington plans on hosting something at some point, as an introductory pyramidal tournament to Westchester. We would prefer to use an easy set like an A set or mirror a set that isn't too hard. At this point, just keep reading packets, either to yourself or to one another. You will pick up most of your knowledge early (including "what's actually important in quizbowl?") just by reading dozens of packets as much as you can.

If the field to this tournament didn't fill up so quickly, then open up again so late (after most schools could get approval for travel from their districts, etc.), we would have come to it instead of HSNCT. I hope we can be there again some year in the future.

We will be meeting in Memorial 113. The best place to park would be at Kent(lot 28) and walk over to Memorial hall. Is there something like SQBS's "round report" for the rounds at HSNCT? There were a couple rounds that the bonuses seemed collectively harder, and i was curious if there was some overall statistic for each one like is tabulated in the usual stats pages for other tournaments.

During the first Bellarmine/DCC game, Jeff was giving 6 or 7 seconds on the bonus answers that Bellarmine was trying to milk the time on. It ended up not mattering, but that would have affected the game since it happened every bonus they received in the second half.

14 rounds is just too much. Having a scab team to bring it to 11 with a possible 12th for ties and such is just fine. If everyone else disagrees with this, then we can give it a shot, but only if we star games quickly and have a not-that-long lunchbreak.

And, honestly, having read 13 rounds of this set, i think that just about every single science or literature or art (or anything else that wasn't history) question was clearly still "historically important." There weren't tossups about Junichiro Tanizaki or chromatography here.
