Modern quizbowl standards dictate that separating the field into several preliminary pools and then reshuffling the pools for the playoffs is the best way to guarantee as many games as possible to all teams, and so that no team is knocked out by a single bad performance. At some point before nationals, it would be interesting to see what the records of the top 25 teams are against each other. You might not have this information readily available, but if you do I think that would spur some good conversations. I love "quiz bolw".

Agreed. More appropriate would probably be to say Semifinalists since a consolation game was not played. We should also include Quarterfinalists on this list since teams 5-8 qualified for the HSNCT because the event had a field of over 50 teams.

To answer my own question: yes, the CATT ppb stats do incorporate bounce backs into them, so I need to delete those, remove any teams depending on those stats from my preliminary rankings, and then recalculate the adjustment for the CATT without that junk data. We ended up with 18 teams and had a competitive event all the way to the end.

The top 4 were:
1. Chamblee A, 9-0
2. Taylor Road A, 8-1
3. Paideia A, 8-1
4. Chamblee C, 5-4
