Since many editors will have a fine-grained sub-distribution prepared before production begins It sounds like a huge amount of effort wastage could be prevented by simply not doing this for packet-sub tournaments. It's reasonable enough when you're setting out to write an entire set in-house, but d...

Based on the thread announcing the shutdown, it was a combination of increased hosting fees and lack of interest from the developer, and the latter is not really something you can crowdfund. If it's the packet-reading utility you're looking for, qbreader.org has similar functionality and a much more...

I don't really see why a public reading should be required for posting anything, but I definitely think we should filter vanity packets away from normal college tournaments to make the archive more useful for people. I’ve seen a few bold manifestos like this one crop up recently, and while I admire the passion they demonstrate (and, in this case, think Arya did a great job as an editor), I tend to find these things rather overstated. Yeah, I've done this a bunch of times (during tournaments, even!) and David is basically right. Bending the LED leads so it's pushed up further through the hole on the box can help restore the light to basic usability, and is generally better than nothing, but it's not a permanent solution.
